Dubbo Showgrounds

Students will travel to Dubbo Showground where they will participate in an initiative by NSW Police and NSW Ambulance designed to reduce youth road trauma by raising awareness among young drivers about the devastating realities of road crashes. The event specifically targets Year 11 students who are new drivers.

Youth Aware of Mental Health Program

The Department of Education is supporting the wellbeing of students through the implementation of Youth Aware of Mental Health (YAM), an evidence-based mental health program. As part of the wellbeing initiatives at Narromine High School, all Year 9 and Year 10 students will be participating in YAM for five hours over a three-week period. This program will be run at our school by accredited YAM instructors. YAM is a culturally sensitive program targeted at all Year 9 and Year 10 students to promote increased knowledge and discussion about mental health, as well as the development of problem-solving skills, emotional intelligence and help-seeking behaviours. Students will be issued an information resource booklet about content covered in the course as well as local support networks that they may find helpful. This is a free program for all Year 9 and Year 10 students. The department has funded all costs associated with the YAM program. If you DO NOT WANT your child to participate, please contact the Front Office by Friday 4th July 2025.
